Nottingham outdoors

Nottinghamshire is perfect for those who like to get outdoors.  Whether it's relaxing in one of the county’s many parks or rambling in the countryside, there is something for every kind of outdoor activity.

The University Park Campus itself is surrounded with lush greenery and also contains a boating lake.

Parks in Nottingham

Nottingham city boasts an impressive range of parks and open green spaces for residents and visitors to relax and enjoy.  A few minutes walk from the city centre itself is the Green Flag Award winning Arboretum park which is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the city centre you'll also find Nottingham Castle's attractive grounds with fantastic view across the city.

Almost every area of Nottingham has a park nearby: Lenton, Clifton, Bulwell, Broxtowe, Beeston, Sherwood, Forest Fields, Colwick, St Annes, Strelley, The Meadows and Wollaton all have open spaces nearby or a short bus ride away.

Wollaton Hall Gardens and Deer Park

Situated approximately three miles from the city centre, near the University Park Campus, Wollaton Hall Gardens and Deer Park is one of Nottingham's best assets. Wollaton Hall is home to a fascinating museum and beautiful gardens set in grounds where deer roam freely.
