Over the last five years The University of Nottingham has invested more than £200 million in buildings and equipment, creating an environment where study and research can thrive and where staff and students can get the most from their work and leisure time. Committed new development projects for completion in 2011 include the following.

As well as our developments in Nottingham we have also completed two innovative University developments abroad.
Malaysia
A new 100 acre purpose-built park campus at Semenyih in Malaysia, close to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, was officially opened in September 2005. Designed to reflect the attributes of University Park, this self-contained 'Garden Campus' occupies a scenic position overlooking green hills and provides high quality teaching and learning facilities, sports and leisure services, residences and a student association building. The student numbers have grown to over 3800.
China
The University is part of a joint venture in China which has seen the development of a 140 acre purpose-built campus in the city of Ningbo, officially opened in February 2006. Nottingham is the first foreign university to be approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education to establish and run a campus independently within the Chinese mainland. 2008 saw the addition of The Centre for Sustainable Technologies to the campus, which has won international recognition with awards for environmental and ‘Green Building’ design. A new Engineering and Science teaching and research building will be completed for September 2011. There are now over 5000 students studying on the campus.
