Self-catered sites
Undergraduate and postgraduate students
Self-catered sites are owned and managed by student accommodation providers arranged by the University. Melton Hall is owned and managed by the University.
Where?
There are eight self-catered sites in total: Albion House for undergraduates only; Broadgate Park, Raleigh Park and St Peter’s Court for both undergraduates and postgraduates; two exclusively for postgraduates (Melton Hall on Jubilee Campus and Cloister House), a part-catered hall on Sutton Bonington Campus for undergraduates and postgraduates (Bonington Hall); and Lonsdale Hall in Derby for students studying there. You may choose to live near the campus you study on, but you don’t have to. There are free and frequent hopper bus links between University Park and Jubilee, and also between University Park and Sutton Bonington. Have a look at the accommodation map to decide where is best for you.
Each site has a variety of rooms to choose from and your fees will vary depending on the site and room type you choose.

Life in self-catered sites
Junior Common Room (JCR): the JCR committee is a group of elected students from your site responsible for representing you in the Students’ Union. They also organise activities and social events for everyone in the site. You can get involved in the committee as a new student as well. See the Students’ Union website for more details.
Site managers: each site has a manager responsible for the day-to-day running of the site and they are committed to ensuring that you are comfortable in your new home.
Security: with 24-hour security and secure sites, we make sure your environment is always safe and secure.
