Generous Gift to the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies to Fund Scholarships and Bursaries:

On 18th January Monica and Bill Partridge were admitted to the University's College of Benefactors at a ceremony which included the executors of the Partridge Legacy;  Dr David Norris, Head of Russian and Slavonic Studies; Professor Cynthia Marsh, Emeritus Professor  of Russian Drama; Professor Catherine Davies, Head of School of Cultures Languages and Area Studies; Dr Siggy Frank, Lecturer in Russian and Slavonic Studies; Aleksandar Pavlovic, PhD student in Russian and Slavonic Studies; Ian Gardner of the Campaign Office, and Professor Karen Cox, Pro-Vice-Chancellor. Professor Cox warmly thanked the Executors for the gift to the School, and the Executors signed the Register of the College of Benefactors. 

The Partridge Legacy has generously funded a range of scholarships and bursaries for Russian and Slavonic Studies.

Professor Monica Partridge was a former Professor of Russian Language and Literature. Professor Bill Partridge, her husband, was Dean of the Faculty of Pure Science and Deputy Vice-Chancellor 1971-72. The School is immensely grateful for their foresight and kindness.
