Shakespeare Street
A Century of Adult Education
The University of Nottingham Adult Education Centre has occupied 14-22 Shakespeare St for nearly a century. Since then it has provided part-time and flexible courses for thousands of students from across the East Midlands.
As the part-time adult education programme joins its full-time counterpart on Jubilee Campus this autumn, we celebrated its huge contribution to lifelong learning with an exhibition 'Shakespeare Street: A Century of Adult Education.'
During the exhibtion visitors were invited to contribute their memories of studying or working in the Centre. This website records some of these memories, including poetry. The online facility to send in memories is still available. » view memories of Shakespeare Street.

Where's Michelangelo?
Circa 1950, when Angelo Terrace underwent remodelling to become UNAEC Shakespeare Street a statue of Michelangelo was removed. Do you know what happened to it?
