Teacher Training: subjects and routes

We offer a range of teacher training subjects and routes, emphasising practical school-based training supported by a thorough introduction to current educational theory.

Successful completion of any of our teacher training courses will give you:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Up to 60 M-level credits gained from the PGCE can be accredited towards the Masters in Education. Modules can be taken online or at Summer School.

Visit a partnership school

 

 

The National Primary SCITT  (School-centred Initial Teacher Training) is an intensive one year course in which trainees complete a University of Nottingham PGCE by distance learning, based in a school of their choice from a national consortium of around 50 schools.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International)  is a part-time programme of professional enrichment for teachers working in countries other than the UK. It does not carry any state registration such as QTS.
