The environment is the greatest challenge facing humanity in the 21st century. How will we sustainably manage our environment while at the same time allowing more and more people to enjoy the benefits of a prosperous lifestyle? Whether we consider climate change, contamination of land, air and water, bad housing, or traffic congestion it is clear that society has so far not succeeded in responding to this challenge.
