Masters

Students must have taken a relevant bachelors degree.

Some courses at the University of Nottingham have higher entry requirements than others and these can be determined by the equivalent UK degree requirements for the courses advertised on our website.

Courses requiring a UK 2:1 require Syrian students to have achieved: 70%+ / ‘very good’

Courses requireing a UK 2:2 require Syrian students to have achieved: 60% to 70% / ‘good’

Graduates of IUST should have achieved either 3.0 to be eligible for courses requiring a UK 2:1 or 2.8 for courses requiring a UK 2:2.

Students who have studied in other countries should check our pages relevant to that country or contact the University's International Office for clarification about their qualifications.

For more information, please see our postgraduate prospectus.

PhD & research

A masters and bachelors degree from a recognised University are usually required for PhD entry, although exceptional students may be considered for PhD entry without a Masters qualification.

Typical minimum GPA requirements from Syrian universities are 75%+ or 'Jayyid jiddan' or ‘very good’.

For all research degrees, we recommend that you make initial enquiries with a potential supervisor or the relevant University of Nottingham school / department before applying.  A research proposal is required when submitting your application.
