Lincoln Education Centre

The Education Centre at Lincoln is situated in the modern and developing Lincoln County Hospital. Students have access to an excellent range of facilities in the new purpose built centre with modern teaching equipment, including computer assisted learning and a multi-disciplinary library.

Health care is provided in hospitals in Lincoln, Gainsborough and Louth plus a wide range of community units throughout the county. Students gain valuable clinical experience in the modern hospital units and the diverse community and non-institutional settings.

Because of the rural nature of the county and widespread clinical placements, the ability to drive and the use of a vehicle is increasingly important, although the School will always take access into account when arranging practice experience for individual students.

About Lincoln

North Lincolnshire combines the beauty of a rural community with a bustling city. It is famous for its magnificent Cathedral, which dominates the skyline. Lincoln came to prominence as a Roman fortress, and many Roman remains can be visited locally. The Brayford Pool, connected to the River Trent by the Roman Fossdyke Canal, was once one of England's main ports. A developing leisure industry, easy access to the East coast seaside resorts, and the tranquillity of the nearby Wolds make Lincoln an important venue for tourists.

The City of Lincoln has numerous shopping areas. In the pedestrianised High Street area there are major department stores, indoor and outdoor markets and the Waterside Shopping Centre. Farmers markets are regularly held in City Square and a shopping centre has recently been developed at St. Marks. Bailgate and the Cathedral area is the place to find the boutiques, souvenir, gifts and specialist shops.

The multi-screen cinema shows newly released films, theatre productions can be seen at the Theatre Royal, and music to suit all tastes can be heard in the local pubs and clubs. There are a variety of eating houses, coffee bars, takeaways and restaurants catering for the city's local, visitor and student population.
